Raffle winner takes home 2017 Beetle Convertible
And with such a worthy cause, it’s no wonder this sold-out event draws 22,000 participants each year. Hailed as the easiest and fastest 10K run in the country, the route takes runners down Toronto’s famed Yonge Street and finishes at Fort York Blvd. A post-run party also took place at Coronation Park. And that’s where we raffled off a new 2017 Beetle Classic Convertible with all proceeds going to give kids with cancer what they need – the chance to be kids at Camp Ooch.
The Beetle Classic Convertible, which features App-Connect with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and 17” Heritage Alloy wheels was taken home by a lucky winner.
Since 1983, Camp Ooch has served as a haven where kids can explore, experience, and share in the magic of Camp. The camp is privately funded, staffed by volunteers and exclusively serves children with and affected by childhood cancer. And the best part, Camp Ooch is 100% free for campers. This is Volkswagen Canada’s third year as a Camp Ooch partner and we couldn’t be more excited to continue our support. In addition to the many Volkswagen and Audi employees who run the Sporting Life 10K, each year, the Volkswagen Canada team participates in a Camp cleanup event to get the grounds ready for the summer season. In 2015, we donated six Passat sedans to assist Camp Ooch with their in city programs. And last year, under the theme of Better Together, we surprised campers with a new canoe. Watch the video below to see how campers, volunteers and Volkswagen employees made it a unique piece of art.
