The Anticipation is Building for the 2018 Atlas
Adi Desai, of Doubleclutch.ca recently ventured to San Antonio, Texas to check out the all-new 2018 7-passenger Atlas.
If you’ve been waiting to find out what reviewers are saying about the Atlas’ performance, technology and safety features, now’s your chance to read all about it.
Power at play
The trim on review is the Highline boasting a 276 horsepower 3.6L VR6 engine with standard 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive. According to Desai, despite Atlas’ large size, “when cruising at highway speeds, the big Volkswagen seems to shrink in size”.
Make a connection
When referring to the interior, Desai comments that the design will certainly be familiar to Volkswagen owners. Comfort and convenience take centre stage with an 8” Discover Media touchscreen with navigation and App-Connect, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The digital cockpit is designed with drivers in mind, turning the instrument gauge cluster into a digital screen that delivers more information the moment you need it.
Versatile like never before
One of the best things about Atlas is that it was built with North American families in mind. That means you can choose to haul people or cargo. No need to compromise. The standard 3rd row seating folds flat to make room for all your cargo. Desai notes the 3rd row is the roomiest in its class. So, if space and versatility you’re after, Atlas is one impressive people hauler and towing machine.
By the end of his review, Desai concludes that Atlas has greater utility than Mazda CX-9 and offers a better ride than the Nissan Pathfinder. In terms of value, it’s right up there with the Honda Pilot. But don’t take our word for it, you can read the full DoubleClutch.ca review here.
