The 2017 Golf GTI gets an epic review
William Clavey of Clavey’s Corner recently wrote about his experiences driving Golf-R and GTI. If you’re looking for a performance hatchback and are wondering which is the right one for you, Clavey’s got you covered.
While the two models share similar features, the Golf-R possesses a slightly more aggressive ride. Given that, you might expect Clavey to choose it as one he would own. Surprisingly, the GTI is the Volkswagen Golf that wins his heart. According to Clavey,
“[…] whatever roads you’ll devour with your little hatch, you’ll have a big fat grin plastered all over your face, because this thing is absolutely epic.”
It’s true. GTI is one powerful hatch that has truly been designed with drivers in mind. It produces a breathtaking 210 horsepower with 258 lb torque. Add to that a solid sport suspension that delivers precise handling and produces less body roll, and you get one hot hatch that really sticks to the road. The result is an exhilarating driving experience.
Clavey’s review is both succinct and comprehensive, covering performance and design in equal measure. He enjoys the comfort and support of the seating while admiring the simple, yet elegant dashboard design. Small touches like red stitching and ambient lighting provide a luxurious feel that complements this little hatch’s performance features.
