New Volkswagen Passat GT concept

Our new Passat GT concept recently made an appearance at Automobility LA, which ran November 17-29, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. Designed by our engineers in Chattanooga TN, this new Passat has more of what North Americans are telling us they want in a performance sedan.

Expect to see this refreshed, restyled sedan hitting the streets soon. But you don’t have to wait until then to get a first look. We’ve got all the details and we’re excited to share them.

A bolder design, inside and out

A number of prominent design changes have been made from the standard Passat, making the GT both unique and eye-catching.

Inspired by the Golf GTI, the Passat GT concept features a black honeycomb grille insert with red accent lines. Similarly, bold details like unique bumper treatments in the front and back, black side mirrors, a black roof, black headliner, a rear decklid spoiler, 19” Tornado alloys and painted calipers give it a striking presence on the road or in your driveway.

Inside, the Passat GT concept sports some energetic details inspired by its upgraded performance. Carbon-fibre pattern door trim and instrument panel, two-tone black and grey sport seats with contrast stitching and the piano black centre console décor prepare you for an exceptional drive.

More powerful performance

The Passat GT concept will be equipped with a 3.6L 280-hp VR6® engine. Combined with a lowered suspension and sport-tuned exhaust, there’s sure to be a lot more excitement to its ride.
