2017 Golf SportWagen Alltrack picks up two awards

The 2017 Golf SportWagen Alltrack has made its mark in Canada. Recently, website Auto123.com and the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) respectively, bestowed two awards on our newest addition.

The 2017 Edition of the Auto123.com Awards were recently announced. We’re proud to report that Golf Alltrack came out on top as “Subcompact SUV of the Year”. Along with the Alltrack, the Mazda CX-3 and the Honda HR-V rounded out this year’s finalists.

In addition, AJAC announced their Canadian Car of the Year Awards today. We’re also pleased to announce that the 2017 Golf SportWagen Alltrack received the AJAC Award for BEST NEW LARGE CAR. Along with the Alltrack, category finalists included the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid and the Kia Optima HEV.

The AJAC Awards were created by journalist members of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) to provide consumers with sound, comparative information on vehicles that are new to the market. Each year, the top automotive journalists from across Canada gather to evaluate new or significantly improved vehicles making their debut on the market. The evaluation is based on real-world back-to-back testing to ensure the most relevant results possible. At the end, the best new vehicles in various categories are selected as well as an overall Canadian Car of the Year and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year. A “Best New Technology” award is also chosen.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to check out the 2017 Golf SportWagen Alltrack, there’s a great video review by our friends at drivingtelevision.com, featuring our own Thomas Tetzlaff and Driving Television’s Zack Spencer. Watch the 2017 Alltrack review now.

Fuel consumption ratings are estimates based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) fuel consumption criteria and testing methods for 2018 model year vehicles and are provided for comparison purposes only. Please note that comparisons to seemingly similar vehicles pre-2015 model year will show discrepancies due to the difference in NRCan approved calculation methods for 2014 model year and older vehicles. Please refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide 2018 for estimated fuel consumption figures. Actual fuel consumption will vary based on driving conditions, driver habits and the vehicle’s condition, weight carried and additional equipment. Tires are supplied and warranted by their manufacturer. Most vehicles are sold equipped with four all-season tires. For vehicles sold equipped with summer performance tires, note that appropriate all-season or winter weather tires are required for driving during cold, snowy or icy weather conditions. Please remember that the use of winter tires may be mandatory in your province or territory. Airbags are supplemental restraints only and will not deploy under all accident scenarios. Always use safety belts and seat children only in the rear seats, using restraint systems appropriate for their size and age. The navigation system depends upon signals from the GPS network and is designed to provide you with suggested routes only. Discrepancies may occur between the mapping and the actual location due to changes in street names, construction or other road system changes which are beyond the control of Volkswagen Canada. Please rely on your individual judgment in determining whether or not to follow a suggested navigation route.
